DSCO: A staple question here at DSCOTECH, how would you describe your sound?

12th Planet: Bass Heavy Punk Rock Sexy Time!

DSCO: Your remix of Jinder's Youth Blood with Flinch is a favorite of mine. The flow is unbelievable. Where did the inspiration for this track come from? The remix parts? The original?

12th Planet: When we were writing the tune, we were influenced by the more purple side of Dubstep like Joker & Ginz. We did a couple versions of the tune, but the more laid back version we created ended up sticking. It was just the right timing when we got the initial groove of that project.

DSCO: Several of your tracks feature Flinch, another badass Dubstep artist. How did this production co-op come to be? How would you describe the chemistry between you and Flinch?

12th Planet: Flinch & I go way back to DNB days. We both used to resident at this club Databass, and eventually we both moved to OC from LA back in the early aught's. Being that he was one of the only people in OC I even knew who produced at the time, we clicked rapidly.

DSCO: Out of all of your productions (remixes and originals included), which one do you hold dearest to you heart? Why?

12th Planet: My favorite remix I have been a part of is Youthblood. At the time Flinch & I were working on it, we never thought that it would have the impact that it did.

DSCO: Which up and coming producer are you keeping an eye on at the moment?

12th Planet: Keep an eye out for Lex Luger. I think everything that kid touches is gold.

DSCO: If you could give aspiring producers one tip to better themselves, what would it be?

12th Planet: Stay focused, and pay attention to detail.

DSCO: What is your favorite venue to play at in the U.S.? Why?

12th Planet: I got a like 4 or 5 favorite venues to play in USA. I love playing Avalon, because of the staff at Control, and the history the venue has. I love playing Voyeur, who I think has the best bar staff in CA, and the best overall production for a midsize night club. I love playing Barcelona in ATX, for the same exact reason. I also can't forget about Webster Hall NYC, and the Roxy in Hollywood.

DSCO: What do you think is the next step in the Dubstep genre?

12th Planet: Holograms!

DSCO: You're playing CONTROL this Friday. What can we expect to hear? Some new, new 12th Planet we hope.

12th Planet:You can expect to hear a lot of Bass Heavy Punk Rock Sexy Time!

DSCO: Any upcoming releases that my readers' and I should be aware of?

12th Planet: SMOG 009 in June, which is a collaboration between myself and SPL. The tracks are called Lootin & Bass Ships. They will be released early June.
